National Archives (NARA) Ordering

Colorlab is an approved vendor for the Unites States National Archives and Records Administration. Colorlab also does work for the government institutions Library of Congress, US Holocaust Memorial Museum, National Library of Medicine, the US Presidential Libraries, and many others.


To receive an estimate for copies of NARA material, you must send us your NARA-approved Item Approval Request List (IARL) form. Click on the button below for the IARL and instructions on how to submit for NARA approval. Once approved, email us at archivalfilm@colorlab.com to get a quote for your items.

Colorlab transfers film at 6.5K, 5K, 4K, 2K, and HD resolutions. We offer full color correction and can digitize footage to your preferred specifications including, but not limited to, DPX, ProRes422HQ, ProRes4444, DNxHD, 10-bit uncompressed, JPEG2000, and h.264. We transfer 35mm, 16mm, 8mm, Super8mm, 9.5mm, 17.5mm, and 28mm film. We also digitize a variety of tape formats including 3/4", 1", 2" Quad, BetaSP, VHS, Hi-8, Digital Betacam, DVCPRO, DVCAM, MiniDV, HDV, HDCAM, and HDCAM-SR.
